Dispatcher for Non-Emergency Medical Services

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and review routing software for dispatching and routing of NEMT drivers; proactively manage and modify routes/schedules to improve services throughout the shift
  • Monitor multiple vendor portals for requests and real time updates; ability to multitask is imperative
  • Responsible for driver phone calls for information regarding scheduling issues and field situations; notify supervisor when situations call for escalation
  • Provide stellar customer service to clients while coordinating new trip requests.
  • Resolve problems and/or complaints quickly and efficiently
  • Relays instructions from supervisors, messages and emergency information.
  • Maintains a current working knowledge of all company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and memorandums.
  • Follows established parameters/formats in receiving requests for service.
  • Assists all GM Automotive Transport drivers and supports overall office phone coverage

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma required
  • 2+ years of dispatching experience a must along with strong data entry skills
  • Must have minimal medical training or telecommunications experience or, have at least one year's experience as an EMS or public safety dispatcher.
  • Skilled in reading and writing English.
  • Must be technically savvy and able to navigate web based software, and tools such as Google docs, sheets, etc
  • Must have previous customer service and scheduling experience
  • Ability to efficiently utilize all equipment assigned to him or her.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Possess good typing skills with speed and accuracy necessary to efficiently process emergency and nonemergency calls.
  • Must have professional phone etiquette skills and strong ability to multitask
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and possess strong attention to detail
